RITCHIE, ANNIE ALMA Annie A. (Grant) Ritchie, age 90, passed away on January 19, 2007, following an illness, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Annie was born in the small country community of Temple, York Co., NB to loving parents, David and Julia Grant. On July 8, 1961, she became the loving wife of Frankie W. (Frank) Ritchie with whom she spent 36 years of happy marriage until his passing on January 27, 1998. Annie graduated High School and attended Normal School and the University of New Brunswick where she received a Bachelors of Arts in 1943 and a Bachelor of Education in 1973. She taught in many schools during her career, including Meductic School, Devon Middle School and other Fredericton schools. Annie resided in Fredericton and spent many summers at the Ritchie family farm in Ritchie, NB. She was happiest when listening to Frankie's funny stories, talking to her many friends and reading her Bible with daily prayer. Annie is survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, David Grant, her mother, Julia Grant and her husband, Frankie Ritchie. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic. Family and friends are welcome for visiting on Saturday, January 20, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Flewelling Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on January 21, 2007 with Rev. Peter Beckwith officiating. Burial will be at Hillman Cemetery, Ritchie, NB in the spring.
