DOAK, FREEMAN ALLISON The passing of Freeman Allison Doak, husband of Rose (Dollard) Doak, of McGivney, NB, occurred on February 27, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 29, 1946 in McGivney Junction, NB, he was a son of Myrtle (Collins) Doak and the late David Doak. Freeman was a Maintenance Coordinator at the University of New Brunswick for 28 years and was the caregiver at McGivney Cemetery. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting ornaments. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Aubrey (Stacey) of Lincoln, Kevin of McGivney; two daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Pond of Wassis, Karen Doak (Shawn Storey) of Doaktown; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Derald (Donna) of Loggieville, Danny (Donna) of Fredericton; three sisters, Debbie (Morris) Calhoun of Lincoln, Lois (Dave) Boyer of Brockville, Wendy (Joseph) Basile of Mississauga, ON; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Major. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by three brothers, Aubrey, Bernie and Lawrence. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 2 pm with Pastor David Williston officiating and Pastor Pat McAloon assisting. Interment will take place at McGivney Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society, to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
