HUGHES, JEAN ELIZABETH The death of Jean Elizabeth Hughes of Newcastle Creek, NB occurred Saturday, March 10th, 2007 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Susan (Pond) Shanks. Jean is survived by her sister, Joyce Essensa of Fredericton; sister-in-law, Avis Shanks of Marysville; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hughes of Nova Scotia; three grandchildren, Darryl Hughes and Brian Hughes of Nova Scotia and Shelley Hughes-Turner of Ottawa; three great grandchildren, Lauren Hughes, Margaret Hughes and John Turner. She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar R. Hughes; sons, Brian Oscar Hughes and John Douglas Hughes; a sister, Gertrude McNalley; brothers, Charles, Hazen, Royden and Allen Hughes. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) where the family will receive visitors on Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4pm. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 15th, 2007 at the United Baptist Church of Minto. Interment will take place in the Marysville United Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
