GUY EUGENE (MAJOR MAGUIRE

MAGUIRE, GUY EUGENE (MAJOR, RET.) Major Guy Maguire, age 69, died peacefully, in Fredericton, March 13, 2007. Born in Kings Co., NB, Major Maguire was educated at Sussex High School ('55) and the University of New Brunswick (Civil Engineering '61). He attended the Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham, UK. An officer in the RCEME Corps, he served in various posts in Canada over a 36-year career, and served as a Canadian exchange officer with the British Army (REME) in Bordon, Hampshire. He was predeceased by his parents, Reginald & Bertha (Cosman) Maguire, & by three sisters, Autine, Irene, & Elva, one brother, Willard, a veteran of WWII, and great-nephew, John Johnson. Major Maguire will be forever missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Ardeth (Clewley), his children, daughter Karen & son-in-law Darryl Kilfillen of Fredericton; son Kevin of Fredericton; son David & daughter-in-law Cindy of Keswick Ridge; daughter Lindy & son-in-law Richard Porter of Fredericton. He leaves his grandchildren, Kenneth, Sean, Samuel Guy, Meagan, and Alex, brother-in-law Ivan Clewley (Janis) of Saint John, brother Ivan (Minnie) of Sussex, sister-in-law Joanne of Georgia, USA, and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his devoted companions, two of the special cats he has loved over the years. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, he was the centre of our world. At Major Maguire's request there will be no formal memorial service. Cremation & a private family service will be held. For those who wish, donations in Major Maguire's memory may be made to the Fredericton SPCA or a charity of the donor's choice.
