DAVID FREDERICK PINNOCK

PINNOCK, DAVID FREDERICK The passing of David F. Pinnock of Stanley, NB occurred at his residence on Monday March 19,2007 at the age of 92. Born in Stanley, he was a son of the late Frederick and Cecil (Clark) Pinnock. David grew up on a farm and maintained a life long connection to the agricultural industry. As a young man he worked for the Capital Co-Operative. He became involved in the cooperative movement, serving as president of the Capital Credit Union and later organizer of the Nashwaak Christmas Tree Growers Association. He worked for many years in the horticultural division of the provincial Department of Agriculture, specializing in the honey bee industry. Upon retiring from his government position he returned to Stanley and assumed the position of general manager of Stanley Mutual Insurance Company, later serving as president and director. He also managed, until recently, to continue growing and marketing Christmas trees and pursuing his hobbies of woodworking and vegetable gardening. A lifetime member of the United Church having been an active participant at Hillcrest United in Stanley as well as Gibson Memorial in Fredericton. Survived by his wife Winnifred (Fullarton) Pinnock; four daughters Joanne McLaughlin (Leonard) of Quispamsis, Katie Lakes (Eric) of Fredericton, Beverly VanBeek, and Bonnie Pinnock both of Stanley; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Fred Pinnock (Shirley) of Ottawa; sister-in-law Doris Pinnock of Stanley. Predeceased by an infant daughter Jean, 4 sisters and a brother. Resting at the Hillcrest United Church, Stanley where visitation will be held on Tuesday March 20, 2007 from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Hillcrest United Church on Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev. Murray McFarlane officiating. Interment will take place in the United Church Cemetery, Stanley in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hillcrest United Church or charity of the donors choice. A special thank you from the family goes to Dr. Lacey and David's homemaker Carol(CJ) Mallais.
