IRVING ALLISON KILBURN

KILBURN, IRVING ALLISON The passing of Irving Allison Kilburn of Lower Kingsclear, NB occurred on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on July 11, 1921 in Lower Kingsclear, Irving was the eldest son of the late Frank and Zella (Burden) Kilburn. Irving served his country during part of World War II. Upon his return he worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for many years, working on large projects in Labrador and the Mactaquac Dam near Fredericton. His skills with trucks and heavy machinery led him to L&A Machine Works and Beristo's where he worked as a delivery person and expediter until his retirement in 1990. A resident of Maugerville for 32 years, he moved back near his family roots in Lower Kingsclear in 1989. Besides his wife of over 60 years, Josephine Mahala (nee Keith) Kilburn, Irving is survived by his son, Keith (Paula) of Lower Kingsclear; one granddaughter, Erin Kennedy (Jason) of Cold Lake, Alberta; two grandsons, Matthew Kilburn and Corey Webb of Fredericton; one brother, Donald Kilburn (Goldie) of Oshawa, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Irving was predeceased by his daughter, Lorraine Gay; and granddaughter, Trisha Dawn; two sisters, Thelma and Joyce; and a brother, Frederick. There will be no visitation or funeral service by Irving's request. Interment will be held at the Kingsclear Kilburn Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be very much appreciated.
