ROSBOROUGH, HELENA (LENA) After a very courageous battle with cancer, Helena Rosborough of Harvey, York Co. passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 11, 2007. Born in 1928 in Delft, Holland, she was a daughter of the late Frederik and Cilia (Heijsteeg) Hendrick den Os. Helena met her husband, George Rosborough, while he was a soldier serving in World War II. They met during the liberation of Holland and were married in Delft on January 2, 1946. She came to Canada as a war bride in November of 1946 and has lived in Canada for 61 years. Helena is survived by a daughter, Beatrice Messer (Bruce), Harvey; two sons, Sidney Rosborough (Valerie) and Mike Dickinson, both of Calgary, AB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband George in 1994; a daughter, Blanche Daley in 1984; a son, Gerry Dickinson; three grandchildren, Judy Daley, Greg Daley and Jeremy Messer and by several brothers and sisters in Holland. Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Acton Cemetery.
