PRICE, ALVIN ALFRED The passing of Alvin Alfred Price of Nashwaaksis, husband of Darlene (Stickles) Price, occurred May 6th, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, after a long period of failing health. He was 76. Alvin was born in Ludlow, NB on October 23rd, 1930, and raised in the Chipman and Minto area. He moved to Fredericton to begin his married life with Darlene in 1956. He began his working career at the age of 15, working 10 years at the Chipman Brick Plant, then working for 38 years with Diamond Construction in Fredericton, until ill health forced his retirement. Alvin and Darlene celebrated 50 years of marriage on November 24, 2006. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Alvin is survived by, sons, William (Cindy), Thomas (Karla) and Albert (Melanie); grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Natasha, Rebecca, Anna, Sarah and Noah; his sisters, Mary McNair (Harvey) and Olive Ashfield (Steven); sister in law, Marjorie Price; and mother in law, Florence Stickles. He was predeceased by his father, Clyde E. Price and mother, Katherine (Long) Price; step-mother, Olive (Brehaut) Price; brother, Elwood; granddaughter, Heidi Price; father- in-law, Albert Stickles; and brother-in-law, David Stickles. Darlene and the family would like to extend special thanks to Pastor Joseph Beesley, Pastor Richard Bragdon and the staff and church family of Sunset Church for their support, prayers and visits. Alvin so much appreciated the visits from his pastors over the years. Thanks are also extended to Dr. R. King, Dr. Franklin, Dr. Aslam and the nursing staff of the DECH ICU and 4SE for their excellent and compassionate care and special thanks also to the Extra Mural Respiratory Department for their more than 12 years of outstanding care. The family will receive visitors at York Funeral Home, 302, Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Tuesday, May 8th, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 9th, 2007 with Rev. Joseph Beesley officiating. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery.
