MINNIE IRENE HOLMES
HOLMES, MINNIE IRENE It is with great sadness the family of Minnie Irene Holmes announces her passing on June 7, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 84. She was born on July 15th, 1922. She is predeceased by her parents, Myles and Hazel Weaver, one sister, Isabel and her husband Orran Merle Holmes in 1972. Minnie is survived by her four children, Orran Jr. (Lorraine); Wilfred (Irene); Evelyn Clowater (Edison); and Sharon Gillette (Craig). Nine grandchildren; Donald (Annette) Clowater, Derrick Clowater, Dana Holmes, Leslie Holmes, Melanie Holmes, Steven (Jill) Holmes, Shari Holmes, Tammy Lynn Amos and Gregory (Kelly) Amos; and nine great grandchildren; Edyn Clowater, Tyler Cook, Karissa Holmes, Jake Holmes, Matthew Holmes, Daniel Holmes, Nathan Holmes, Travis Porter and Jordan Porter; two brothers; Floyd Weaver (Lillian) and Ray Weaver (Mildred); many nieces, nephews and caring friends. Minnie was a member of the Blissfield Baptist Church and a life time member of the Women's Society. She enjoyed the Doaktown Senior's Club, where she loved to go on their many trips, and loved to socialize with members. She also loved to quilt and knit socks and mittens for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Minnie attended many music jamborees to hear her favorite fiddle songs. In her home you would find many of her plants and flowers which she loved to tend too. Minnie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, always willing to help all her family. She will be greatly missed by all family and friends. We love you Mom, Rest in Peace. Mrs. Minnie Irene Holmes will be resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held Monday June 11, 2007, at 2 p.m. from Doaktown United Baptist Church, with Pastor Weaver Amos officiating. Burial will follow in Ford Hollow Cemetery, Blissfield. At the request of the family donations to NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of Davidson's Funeral Home (365-7022).
