Larry Keith Blatchford December 30, 1948 - October 13, 2008 Larry was the 13th of 14 children born to Frank and Emma. They were a large and hard working family. He attended elementary at Alexandra School and one year at A.E. Peacock Technical High School. Married at 22 in Calgary on June 20, 1970 to Sandra. He adopted her son Robert. They lived in Calgary and Larry went back to school to get his Gr. 12. He pondered being a Forest Ranger before moving to Crossfield in 1972, where he worked as a ranch-hand. Larry and Sandy also ran the Crossfield Cafe for about a year. In 1974, Larry, Sandy and Robert moved to Moose Jaw. Larry worked for Acton Equipment until 1985 when the dealership closed. Larry was a skilled partsman, repairman and welder. If Larry couldn't find it for the farmer, it was well known he could make it for them. Larry loved to sing and many times lead parties singing his favourite tunes such as "Lucille", "The Gambler", "Honeycomb" and "There's A Hole In The Bucket". Larry's devotion to his parents was evident in his daily visits including Thursday Night Crib with his dad. When his dad became ill, Larry nursed him until he died. Larry married Cecile in 1992 in Moose Jaw Crescent Park. Larry and Cecile moved to Parksville, B.C. to manage an apartment building. After the apartment building burned down, Larry and Cecile helped resettle the residents. Managing several buildings in Alberta, they finally settled in Regina, managing Northland Apartments. Larry was well respected for his hard work and admired for his dedication. Larry enjoyed many things including oil painting, riding horses, skiing, singing, camping and Cub leader. Larry will be sadly missed by wife Cecile and family, son Robert and Larry's siblings Raymond, Ken, Irene, Maxine, Edith, Betty, Francis, Faye, Billy, Karen, Gail, Patsy and Bonnie and their families including many nieces and nephews. A Private Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 19th, 2008 to celebrate Larry's life.
