ELDON O. A URQUHART

URQUHART, ELDON O. A long time resident of New Maryland, Eldon passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2007, at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital from Cancer. Born October, 1942 in Moncton, N.B. Eldon was the son of Omer and Doreen (Mullin) Urquhart. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Ann (Snowdon) and their four children; Daughter-Susan (Martin) Green of Boxborough, Massachusetts and their children Alex and Brittany; Daughter-Marcia (Kevin) Nicklin of Minto, N.B. and their daughters Alicia and Alana; Daughter-Diane (Jeremy) Meyer of Taymouth, N.B. and their children Cassidy and Jalen; Son Jason (Susana Serano) of Ottawa, Ontario. He is also survived by three brothers-Allison, Terry and Mark. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother Harold, and infant sister Deborah. He was a Professional Accountant (C.M.A.) spending four years in private industry before entering the Provincial Government for 28 ½ years in the Departments of Education, Social Services and Supply & Services. He completed his career as a self- employed accountant and auditor. He enjoyed his profession, working with the staff and balancing anything that involved numbers. His auditing was mostly in the field of Non-Profit Organizations within the Fredericton area. Eldon always said that he grew up on a farm and was at all times just a small time country lad. He expressed that in his manner, his approach to people, and his love of the outdoors. His hobbies over the years included gardening, camping, softball, skiing, badminton, cards, golfing, bowling, and curling. Eldon was recently a member of Carmen Creek Golf Club, Capital Winter Club, Kingswood Seniors Tuesday Bowling & Monday Night Cards in New Maryland. Eldon will be cremated, with the ashes being spread in many of his favorite spots. Visitors wishing to pay their respects to the family may do so at Bishop's Funeral Home located on the Woodstock Road, Fredericton on August 17th, between 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. By his request there will not be a service. Eldon, being a dog lover, wished that donations be made to the Fredericton SPCA Animal Shelter, Hilton Rd., or any other cause that the donor wishes.
