Is Time To Celebrate The Life Of Ida Poirier (nee Clermont) May 22, 1913 to Oct 25, 2008 Ida Poirier passed away peacefully at the age of 95 while residing at the Circle Drive Special Care Home in Saskatoon. She was born in 1913, the 9th of 13 children. Ida was always hard working and survived the Great Depression by milking cows in order to generate a little money, growing her own food and later drove a school bus. Ida remained on the farm until 1965 when she moved to Moose Jaw where she resided until the fall of 2006. At that time Henry convinced her to move to Saskatoon. Ida will be remembered for her steadfast devotion and unconditional love to her family, and her passion for gardening and incredible talent for "handy-work", as evidenced by her numerous awards. Her talents were endless - she could always be called upon to make a wedding cake, host a family gathering, contribute a "dainty" or recount a story from the "good old days" with her sister Anita. Ida was predeceased by husbands Andrew Moulin and Paul Poirier, her daughter, Irene Durand, and 11 of her 12 siblings. She is survived and will be dearly remembered by her son, Henry Moulin (Linda), granddaughters Colette Ripley (Brian) and their two sons, Trina Moulin (Lee), Nanette Durand-Ray (Kevin) and their daughter, Tammy Moulin and her son and daughter; and grandsons Denis Durand, Donovan Swehla (Pam) and Kelly Swehla, sister Anita Croisetiere and husband George, sister-in-law Therese Clermont (Edward), goddaughter Paulette Sturgeon and husband Ralph, plus hundreds of nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Ida's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at St. Joseph's Church, located at 1064 3rd Avenue N.W. in Moose Jaw. Father Glenn Zimmer, OMI will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, all donations will be forwarded to the Circle Drive Special care home as a thank you for their loving & attentive care.
