Edith McKetiak of Moose Jaw passed away on Tuesday October 28, 2008. Edith Barlow was born October 30, 1926 in Abbey, SK. She was the proud mother of three sons, Billy (Joan) - Carman, MB, Leonard (Judy) - Didsbury, AB, and Larry (Cindy) - Swift Current, SK. She also leaves to remember her four grandchildren, Jared (Leah) - Winnipeg, MB, Mandi - Carman, MB, Corinne - Calgary, AB, and Mitchell - Didsbury, AB; one sister Gladys Laidlaw - Victoria, BC; two brothers, Fred Barlow and Frank Barlow - Swift Current, SK; sister-in-law Lorraine Barlow - Saskatoon, SK; and two nieces, Evelyn - Devon, AB and Kathy - McKenzie, BC. Edith was a kind and gentle woman. She led through life with a love of gardening, nature, cooking, and sewing. Edith married George McKetiak in 1948. They lived in Swift Current until 1972 when they moved to Moose Jaw. Edith was extremely proud of her three sons and their families and was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. The family will always be thankful for the kindness and compassion shown by her faithful friends, Joan and Bert Olmstead. In keeping with her wishes, a Service of Remembrance was held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday October 31, 2008. Della Ferguson officiated. For those so wishing, memorials to the Moose Jaw Cosmo Centre would be appreciated. In living memory of Edith, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
