GEORGE WILLIAM TAYLOR

TAYLOR, GEORGE WILLIAM It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Taylor on Thursday, September 13, 2007, with his family at his side at York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton. Born in St. Croix, NB on May 1, 1922, he was the son of the late Robin and Mildred (McElroy) Taylor. George was employed with C.P.R. in McAdam, NB, until 1960. The following year, he moved to Fredericton and began working at the Chestnut Canoe Factory and later at U.N.B. in the Maintenance Dept. and prior to his retirement, he was employed at the D.E.C.H. in the S.P.D. Dept. George is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret M. (Clendenning) Taylor; one daughter, Donna Johnston (Arnold) and their sons Kevin (Jillian) and Kendall (Kris) all of Fredericton; one son Eugene Taylor (Sandra) of Oak Bay, NB and their sons, Derrek and Darren both of Montreal; granddaughter Krista Grieve (Jeff) of Harvey, NB; four great grandchildren, Emma, Tyson, Carlie and Jenna; two sisters, Bessie Pelkey (Paul) of Stoney Creek, Ont. and Maxine O'Donnell (Lorey) of Fredericton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Della Gardner and Berla Biggar. Visitation will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Sunset Church, 429 Clements Dr., Fredericton, on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Officiating clergy will be Rev. J. Beesley and Rev. R. Bragdon. Interment in the Dayton Cemetery immediately following the service. Pallbearers will be Donald Sansom, Ivan Storey, Tony Quackenbush, George MacDonald, Luke Kelly and Ronald Thompson. For those who wish, memorial tributes to Sunset Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to thank Dr. A. Irrinki, nurses and staff of York Manor Nursing Home (Best Building) for their excellent care.
