WILLIAM JOHN ARBUCKLE

ARBUCKLE, WILLIAM JOHN It is with great sadness that the family of William (Billy) John Arbuckle of Dumfries, NB, announce his passing on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Billy is survived by his wife Althea Arbuckle (Hatto), one son Frederick and Sharon Arbuckle, Dumfries, NB, four daughters Barbara and Peter Morrison, Prince William, NB, Anna and Gerard Daly, Dumfries, NB, Martha and Andrew Kitchen, New Maryland, NB, and Pamela and Mark Belliveau, Calgary, AB; grandchildren Sean, Aynslie, Jason, Andrew (Karen), Kristy, Jeremy (Kim), Jonathan, Jodi (Charles), Michelle (Peter), Michael, Matthew (Tara) and Jennifer; six great-grandchildren Jessie-Lyne, Alysa, Caleb, Alexa, Brennan, and Myles. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Ethel (Mabie) Arbuckle and infant sister Frances Jessie. Bill was born in 1921 on his farm in Dumfries, NB where he spent his entire life. He graduated from the Agriculture program at the Carleton County Vocational School in 1940 and worked on his farm most of his days. In 1943 Bill married the love of his life, Althea Hatto, and started a family. In the early 70's he went to work at Valley Forest and remained there until 1985 when he retired. Nature and being in the woods was where he was happiest and he loved to be outside with his "projects", including bees, the tractor, the garden and making maple syrup. He took advantage of travel opportunities and never passed up a chance to go for a drive. Bill will be remembered by most for his story telling, his love of his family and his continuous curiosity for learning new things. Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverside United Church, 6682 Route 102 on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 2pm with Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Barony Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Aynslie Morrison, Kristy Arbuckle, Jodi Goguen and Michelle Arbuckle-Lewis. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Sean Daly, Jason Kitchen, Andrew Morrison, Jeremy Daly, Michael Arbuckle and Matthew Kitchen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside United Church Building Fund or the Barony Cemetery. www.flewellingswan.com
