
MARY EILEEN LEWIS
LEWIS, MARY EILEEN Mary Eileen Lewis (Delahunt) of Fredericton died peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Monday, October 29th, 2007 at the age of 87. Born on December 9th, 1919 in Moncton, N.B. to the late John and Maude Delahunt, she was the beloved wife for 60 wonderful years of the late Laurence Wilson Lewis. Eileen leaves behind many happy memories of life lived to the fullest with her large and sometimes noisy family, who always brought her great joy and happiness. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends alike for her kind and gentle spirit, her deep commitment to her faith, her love of a good joke, and her apple pies. She was the loving and devoted mother of Donald Lewis (Monique) of Dartmouth, Robert Lewis (Patricia) of Fredericton, Margaret Wickett of Ottawa, Bruce Lewis (Val Biskupski) of Fredericton, Carol McCoombs (Gerry) of Fredericton, and Kathy Lewis (Brent Hickman) of Halifax. She was the cherished grandmother of her thirteen grandchildren, John, Robert (Adelle Pratt) and Michael (Mimi) Wickett, Steven (Stacy Coy), David and Andrew Lewis, Brian, Michael and Katherine Lewis, Kelly Murray (Terry) and Jennifer McCoombs, Ben and Laura Hickman, and her six great-grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Russell, Maxwell and Elisa Wickett, and Thomas Lewis. She also leaves behind her youngest brother William (Kay) Delahunt of Moncton. Together with her husband and parents who passed before her, she was predeceased by her brothers Jack, Gordon, Harry and Leonard, and her sisters Edith and Marie. Family and friends may pay respects at McAdam's Funeral Home (www.mcadamsfh.com) on Thursday, November 1st, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church, Regent Street on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at 2:00 pm, with Father G.M. White and Father J.J. Dolan officiating. Interment in Hermitage Cemetery immediately following. Following the service, the Lewis Family invites everyone to join them at a reception in honour of Eileen's long and happy life, between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, at her home at 327 Regent Street (old St. Dunstan's School), Apartment 108.
