FREDA (NEE SWETSKY) APPEL

APPEL, FREDA (NEE SWETSKY) Peacefully in Ottawa on November 2, 2007, in her 93rd year after a prolonged illness. She was a fighter till the end. Dearly beloved wife of Toby and the late Jack Budovitch. Beloved and adored Mother of Sharon Pinsler (Peter) and Brenda Schopp (Erik Haltrecht). Treasured Grandmother of Jacki Seley (Peter), Jonathan Pinsler (Emmanuelle Lesage), Sarah Schopp, and Jay Schopp and her special Great Grandchildren Hannah and Samson Seley and Julia and Clara Pinsler. Dearest and cherished sister of Pearl Steinberg (Joseph), Lou Swetsky (Gladys), and all of those whose lives she touched. Dear step-mother of Maureen Molot (Henry), Linda Cohen (Alan), Sandy Schuman (Gerry), and Barry Appel. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Freda's caregivers Maria, Clementine, Lolita, and Beryl for their compassionate assistance and excellent care. Freda was a successful business woman and was owner of Tiny Tots Wear and Wilsons Laundry and Cleaners for many years. She was kind, giving, sweet, gentle, intellegent, and a gracious lady who will be loved for as long as a memory of her remains. She was friendly to whoever she met because she truly loved people, She was involved in Hudassah-Wizo in Fredericton and Ottawa, and participated in the Sgoolai Israel Synagogue sisterhood. Funeral service will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Monday, November 5th, at 2:00 PM, followed by internment at Sgoolai Israel Synagogue Cemetery. Shiva will be held at 28 Duncan Lane.
