DOUTHWRIGHT, RUPERT HARRY Sept 28, 1955 - Nov 3, 2007 We are sad to announce the passing of beloved husband, father and brother, Rupert Douthwright. Rupert was born in Halifax, NS and moved to Merritt, BC in 1976 where he made his new home. Rupert worked as a heavy duty mechanic at Highland Valley Copper for the past 24 years. Rupert was very active member of the Merrit Volunteer Fire Department, the RCMP Auxillary and the Merrit Snowmobile Club. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his boys Scott & Mike, his loving brothers, Rod (Eva), Brian (Cathy), Claude (Gail), Donny (Mary), Frank (Vilma), Carle (Ginger), Shawn (September) and numerous nieces & nephews. Rupert was predeceased by his parents, Hank & Elsie Douthwright. A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov 10 at 1 PM at the Crossroads Community Church, Merritt, BC. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
