(Nonie) Mason (nee White) June

Passed on: November 16th, 2008

(Nonie) Mason (nee White) It is with great sadness that Nonie's family announces her passing on November 16, 2008, at the age of 80 after a wonderful life blessed with laughter and love. Nonie had an outgoing personality, a great sense of humor and was always fun to be around. She loved to dance and figure skate, she loved the music of Frank Sinatra, the Ink Spots and the Mills Brothers. She loved to knit and loved "classic" movies, but most of all she loved to spend time visiting with her family and friends. Nonie was born and raised in Assiniboia and while she lived in Moose Jaw the majority of her life, her home town and high school friends always remained close to her heart. She worked for many years as an administrator for a number of organizations including Maccam Motors, Crescent Furniture and Queen Elizabeth School. In retirement, Nonie and her husband Bob were active members and volunteers at Timothy Eaton Gardens. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital Gift Shop and for Meals on Wheels. Nonie will be lovingly remembered by her son Doug Hood, daughter-in-law Kristine, grandchildren Kirstie and Adam, her daughter Mary Jane Seal, son-in-law Clare, grandchildren Ryan and Joelle and by her brother Jim (Anne) White and his family as well as many close friends and family members. She was predeceased by her parents Jim and Violet White and by her husband Bob Mason. A celebration of Nonie's life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 3:00 pm. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia at a later time. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Moose Jaw and District Seniors, 510 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, S6H 3K3. In living memory of Nonie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register book at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries). Dana Smith Funeral Director
