MAY ROSE YOUNG (THORNHILL)
YOUNG (THORNHILL), MAY ROSE Bedford, N.S., passed away, November 18th, 2007 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Grand Bank, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Dinah (Nicholle) Thornhill. May was a school teacher for several years in Newfoundland and later worked for the Federal Government in Gander; where she met her husband, Charles. May and Charles and their daughter lived for several years in Ann Arbor, Michigan while Charles completed his PhD, before moving to Fredericton in 1967. May was a wonderful homemaker for her family and enjoyed volunteering as a Docent at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. Upon retirement, May and Charles moved to Bedford, NS; but still returned frequently to Fredericton to visit the beloved Grandchildren. May will be greatly missed by her family and friends in Bedford and Fredericton. She is survived by her husband, Charles Young, Bedford; daughter Katherine (Clayton) Barclay, Fredericton; grandsons, Christopher and Isaac; sister, June Chafe; brother, Edward Thornhill and her two nieces, Heather (Jim) Pankovich, Edmonton, Pamela (David) Snow, St. John's. She was predeceased by her sister, Irene Thornhill. Visitation will be Thursday, November 22nd at McAdams Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at McAdams Funeral Home, Friday, November 23rd at 2 pm with Canon T.A. Smith officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
