WALTER AMOS SCOTT

SCOTT, WALTER AMOS The passing of Walter Amos Scott, husband of the late Doris (Akerley) Scott, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on November 28, 2007 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 18, 1912 in Temperance Vale, NB, he was a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Lyons) Scott. Walter was a Veteran of World War II, was enlisted with the 89th Battery, RCA in September 1939. He served throughout the Second World War with 5th Field Regiment RCA in Canada, England and North West Europe, returning to Canada in September 1945. He was a member of the Temperance Vale Baptist Church and formerly on the Board of Trustees at Marysville United Baptist Church. Walter is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Walter was predeceased by four sisters, Eva MacDonald, Hazel Christie, Jessie Malatesta and Ethel Russell; four brothers, George, Harold, Perley and James Scott. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 2 pm with Rev. David Dubois officiating. Interment will take place at Marysville Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, CNIB or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
