Gamble Mary Kathlyn Gamble, loving wife, devoted mother, caring grandma, thoughtful sister, cherished friend, passed away quietly at the age of 87 years on November 23, 2008 at Providence Place. Mary was born to Kathlyn (Butler) and William North on September 17, 1921 in Moose Jaw and was raised in the Buttress area. She married the love of her life Albert (Bert) Gamble on February 28, 1941. Bert and Mary shared their lives together and raised their six children in a home built by Bert in Moose Jaw after he returned from the War. Mary had a special place in her heart for her youngest brother Jack, and his family, who she raised from the time he was 14. She was an active member of the Moose Jaw community and devoted her time to improving the lives of veterans. Mary was passionately involved in the Royal Canadian Legion. She served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59 and was honoured with a life membership. In addition to Bert, her loving husband of 67 years, Mary is survived by her children, Bob (Christina) Gamble, Wally (Barb) Gamble, Cathy Gamble (Michel), Abe (Becky) Gamble, Sue (Vaughn) Clarke, Curt (Leanne) Gamble, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Mary is predeceased by her parents, brothers, Lawrence, Robert and Jack North, grandson Chad Clarke, and great-grandson Logan Clarke. Mary touched so many with her thoughtful, dynamic soul and will be greatly missed by us all. Family and friends are invited to a loving farewell for Mary at the Royal Canadian Legion, 268 High St. W., on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 2 - 4 pm, ceremony beginning at 2:30 pm. Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Rites will be conducted by Tracy North. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Providence Place Foundation, 100 2nd Ave., N.E., S6H 1B8, or to a charity of your choice.
