BROOKER, EVELYN MARGARET Evelyn Margaret Brooker age 84, of Amherst and formerly of Fredericton passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Gables Lodge, Amherst with her family by her side. Born in Charlston, N.B. she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lydia (Grant) McLean. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Fredericton. Evelyn worked for many years at the United Pentecostal Bible Institute in Fredericton as a cook and mother to most of the students. Following her husband's death she resided with her oldest daughter in Amherst where she was a faithful member of the Revival Centre, UPC. For the past two years she resided at Gables Lodge. Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Anne (David) Allen of Amherst and Duska (Bill) Annis of Moncton; one son, David (Leona) Brooker of Stickney, N.B.; grandchildren, Michele, Mark, Tamie, Kevin, Sharon, Phillip and Shawn; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Etta and Ida; and two brothers, Arthur and Arnold. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Douglas; sister, Nellie; and brothers, Norman, Clayton and Harold. Her remains will rest at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902-667-9906) with visiting on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Faith United Pentecostal Church, Amherst with Rev. Jonathan Cole and son in law Rev. Bill Annis officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the Dayton Cemetery, Fredericton, N.B.
