CAROLINE M. FORMAN

FORMAN, CAROLINE M. "Her children arise up, and call her blessed " Proverbs 31:28 It is with great sadness and a deep sense of personal loss that the daughters of Caroline M. Forman announce the passing of their beloved mother on January 12, 2008. Our mother was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on June 15, 1920, the eldest daughter of William and Gertrude (Jackson) Mack. The family of six brothers and sisters, together with their parents moved to Somerville, Massachusetts where she later met her future husband, Ralph. Mum and Dad were married in Somerville on April 4, 1942. In 1950 they moved to Fredericton to raise their family and spent fifty-five happy years together before Dad predeceased her in 1997. Over the years, Mum was very involved in the church life of both Union Street United Baptist Church and later Devon Park Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher, CGIT leader, Awana Commander and Daily Vacation Bible School teacher. She also sang in the church choirs, including the original Living Christmas Tree presentation. Our mother is survived by two daughters, Carol Nicholson (Gary) and Merle Balmain (David); six grandchildren, Caroline Arnett, Hilary Rota (Bob), Kimberley Levesque (Chris), Jennifer Wilkins (Michael), Kathryn Balmain and fiancé, Cedric Johnston, Eric Nicholson; and three great grandchildren, James Arnett and Christopher and Lindsay Levesque. She is also survived by a brother, Norman Mack (Miriam); and two sisters, Ruth McGlinchey and Pat Carbone. She was predeceased by a beloved daughter, Mary Ives (Jim) in 2006; a sister, Theresa Morrissey; and a brother, William Mack. For the past three years our mother has been a resident of Windsor Court where she met many new friends and enjoyed many social activities. From time to time she was known to give an impromptu piano recital to a small, but appreciative audience. Our mother was a lady in the truest sense of the word. In thought, word and deed her intentions were always to be of service to others. She will be remembered with great love and pride by her family and by all those whose lives she touched. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, January 15th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Devon Park Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 16th at 3 pm with Pastor Lawrence Meade officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish to make a memorial donation, the family requests donations be made to Devon Park Baptist Church or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
