CARTEN, FREDERICK JAMES It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Frederick J. Carten Sr. of Royal Road, NB, husband of the late Annie (McLaughlin) Carten, on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital at the age of 71. Fred will be sadly missed by his whole community as well as many customers who have known him throughout his 42 years of service with Fred Carten's Used Cars and Auto Wrecker. The last 17 years of which was run with son, Casey. He will be sadly missed by all his friends in the car business. He was one of the best people you would ever want to know. Fred leaves behind his daughter, Cathy of Fredericton; four sons, Frederick Jr. and wife Kathy of Lincoln, Ricky, Bruce and Casey all of Fredericton; four grandchildren, Corey, Terri-Lynn, Jonathon and Daniel; one great grandson, Alexander all of Fredericton; two brothers, Don and Ernest (Marlene) of Fredericton; one special sister-in-law, Nellie of Fredericton Junction; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Besides his wife, Fred was predeceased by his parents, Milford and Myrtle Carten. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Lower Hainesville Cemetery, Lower Hainesville, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
