MILDRED MARIA PIKE
PIKE, MILDRED MARIA Mildred M. (Turner) Pike of Temperance Vale passed away February 14, 2008 at Upper River Valley Hospital. Born in 1922 at East Newbridge, NB, she was a daughter of the late Manzer and Zula (Stairs) Turner. Mildred enjoyed quilting, knitting and her vegetable and flower garden. She was a housewife and also worked with her husband James on the family farm. She is survived by two sons, Dale Pike (Darlene) and James Pike (Bernadette), both of Temperance Vale; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Gray, Temperance Vale; five grandchildren, Angela Wright, Lydia Thornton (Troy), Christa LaKing (Nic), Tammy Pike (Adam) and Daniel Pike; nine great grandchildren, Zach, Deidre, Makaila, Evan, Mallory, Brandon, Kori, Orlando and Brianna; a brother, Stanley Turner (Hilda), East Newbridge; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, James E. Pike in 1967; two sons, Lorne in 2004 and Arnold in 2007; a sister, Anna Appleby in 2007; two brothers, Burley Turner and Murray Stairs. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Terry Brewer officiating. Interment will take place later at Temperance Vale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gordon Turner, Troy Thornton, Phillip MacFarlane, Nic LaKing, Adam Lawrence and grandson, Daniel Pike.
