MARGARET W. "POLLY" CLOGG
CLOGG, MARGARET W. "POLLY" The passing of Margaret W. "Polly" (Brown) Clogg, of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late A. Gordon Clogg, occurred peacefully on Saturday, February 23rd, 2008 at Windsor Court. Born on October 15th, 1917 she was a daughter of the late George W. and Margaret (Colburn) Brown. Polly graduated from UNB in 1936 and taught at several places in rural New Brunswick. She also was a substitute teacher in the Moncton area for many years. She was a member of St. John's United Church in Moncton and of St. Paul's United Church in Fredericton. Polly was an enthusiastic curler, winning the provincial title with her rink (Mrs. E.A. Willis, Mrs. D. Stratton, Mrs. R. B. DeWare) in 1955 and 1957. Polly is survived by one son, Arthur D. Clogg, of Fredericton, NB; two daughters, Margaret J. Lane of Vancouver, BC, and Joan E. (Ailya Rose) of San Diego, CA; Mr. and Mrs. D.S. Clogg of Moncton, NB; sister, Jean Phillips of Seattle, WA; cousins in New Brunswick and Newfoundland; friends in Moncton and Fredericton. Besides her husband and parents, Polly was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas W. Brown and George W. "Bud" Brown Jr. A Memorial Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church, Fredericton on Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. Interment will take place in the Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
