HILL, DONALD FREDERICK It is with sadness that the family of Donald Frederick Hill announces his passing at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 1, 2008. Born in Nashwaaksis on April 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lillian (Tyler) Hill and husband to his loving wife of 58 years, Lois (Graham). Don was a well known Fredericton builder and developer for many years - through his business ventures - Donald Hill Homes Ltd, Nashwaaksis Realty and Razen Realty. Besides his wife, Don is survived by four daughters, Debbie (Jim) Hudson, Cathy (Fred) Steeves, Wendy (Gordon) Thornton and Tami (Dave Dunbar); three sons, Terry (Jackie), Kim (Darrell Brewer) and Graham (Lori). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; Mike (Holly) Hudson, Mark (Maureen Horne) Hudson, Karen Hudson, Tracey (Mark Moulton) Hill, Terry-Ann (Jim) Melanson, Jason Hill, Raena (Brian Jones) Steeves, Peter (Tracy) Steeves, Vicki (Dean) Orser, Christopher Thornton, Justin (Melissa) Hill, Julie (Andrew) Kilfillen, Jared Hill, Chelsey Merrithew, Marlea-Rae Merrithew, Trent Hill and Courtney Hill. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Don is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; Zachary, Tanner, Devon, Morgan, Cameron, Kayla, Forest, River, Danielle, Andrew, Ethan, Grace, Fallon, Alexander and Jakob and also by numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving also is Don's only remaining sibling, a sister, Norma Elliott of Fredericton and Florida. Don is also survived by three special aunts whom he loved dearly, Gladys White of Niagara Falls, ON, Thelma (Bill) Innis of Bobcageon, ON and Rita (Donald ("Dig")) Gorman of Toronto, ON. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Ferris and Joan Hill; his brother, Larry; and his devoted grandparents, Charles and Margaret Hill. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Barry Craig officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael and Mark Hudson, Peter Steeves, Chris Thornton and Trent Hill. Interment will take place at a later date.
