LILIAN IRENE (PERKINS) (EASTWOOD) PHILLIPS

PHILLIPS, LILIAN IRENE (PERKINS) (EASTWOOD) It is with broken hearts that we wish to announce the unexpected passing of our cherished mother, Lilian Irene (Perkins) (Eastwood) Phillips on March 20, 2008 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on her parents' farm in Wirral on January 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Caroline (Booth) and Charles Perkins. With a heart that touched so many, Lilian is survived by her devoted children, Joy (Richard Nason) of Tracy, Christel (Don Roberts) of Norton, Ronald (Elizabeth) of Wirral, James (Gail) of Darling's Island, Debbie, (Wayne Carberry) of Gagetown, Glen (Karan) of Wirral, Alan (Beverly) of Burton, and Shirley (George Rennick) of Wirral. Nana/Grammie is survived by her precious grandchildren: Tony, Debby, Shelley, Michael, Jamie, Jennifer, Erin, Michelle, Mike, Pamela, Diana, Jonathan, Amanda, David, Lawrence, David, Sam, Robert, Paul, Gabriel, Matthew, Ronnie, Mark and their children; in addition to her much-loved great grandchildren who brought her so much joy, Jory, Kory, Laura, Derek, Jake, Kaylee, Tommy, Anthony, Gabe, Samuel, Brendan and Julia. She was so proud of all of us and loved us dearly, as we did her. She is also survived by her brother, Alvin Perkins of Morna, sister-in-law Lily Perkins of Hoyt, as well as her stepchildren, Lori Lee, Karen Dawn, Todd, Marilyn, Doug, Dale, Clinton, Dwight, Kelly and their children. Lilian also leaves to mourn many special nieces, nephews and dear friends. Predeceased by her first husband Parker Eastwood, second husband Leland Phillips, brothers, Neal and Wallace Perkins, sister, Joyce McCracken, half-brothers, Hibbert Washburn and Melbourne Perkins, stepsister, Sue Bragg, daughter-in-law Dorothy Eastwood, and special grandson, Everett Nason. Mom was an amazing, talented woman who touched so many lives through her life of service to her Lord. One of her greatest joys was singing hymns and playing her piano. She was a faithful member and organist at Patterson United Baptist church and later at Tracy Baptist Church. Mom was a shining example of strength and faith. Another passion of Mom's was her quilts of love she made for each of us. When Spring arrived, you could see Mom out in her garden hacking out the weeds just daring them to grow back. How she loved life, and she infused that spirit in all of us. After she was 60, Mom got the "travel bug" and made 2 trips across Canada, as well a trip to Australia, England, Hawaii, New Zealand, Florida and many road trips to Amish country with Richard, Joy, and Joyce. There is no doubt in our minds that Mom/Grammie will be welcomed into the choir of God playing the piano for her Lord whom she loved and served with all of her heart. "A mother holds her children's hand for a while, their hearts forever." Family and friends are invited to the family center of the Tracy United Baptist Church on Monday March 24, 2008 for visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be from the Tracy United Baptist Church on Tuesday at 2 PM with the Rev. James Harrison officiating. Interment in the Hoyt Baptist Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Tracy United Baptist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, N. B. (368-2413). www.internetobits.com - Condolences sunfun99@live.ca
