RYAN, JOAN K. The passing of Joan Kathleen Ryan occurred at York Manor Nursing Home in Fredericton on March 26th, 2008, at the age of 92. Born in St. Stephen, NB, on January 3, 1916, she was the daughter of the late George and Eileen (Aungier) Forrest. Joan was employed as a Bookkeeper with the original Trites Flower Shop for 10 years. She was Anglican by faith. The last surviving member of her immediate family, her parents, a sister, Gwendolyn Hodgson and brothers Jim, George, Graham and Patrick all predeceased her. Joan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Royden Ryan; a son, J. Patrick Ryan (Darlene); a granddaughter, Lauren; a special niece, Barbara Savage all of Fredericton; as well as many other nieces and nephews. Joan's request for no visitation will be respected. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 1st, 2008 at 1:00 PM from St. Paul's United Church, 224 York St., Fredericton. Rev. Paul Ross will officiate. No flowers please, memorials to York Foundation Inc. or St. Paul's United Church Restoration Fund would be appreciated by the family. Interment at a later date.
