BARNES, ERNEST May 19, 1920 - March 24, 2008 It is with great sorrow that the family of Ernest Barnes announce his passing on Monday, March 24, 2008. Ern was born in Fredericton, NB on May 19, 1920. From very early in his life Ern was interested in radios and how they functioned; which started him on the road to a career in both radio, and then television as an engineer. He worked for more than twenty-five years at Channel 2&7 in Calgary, before retiring to enjoy his golden years. Ern was also an avid Ham radio operator (call sign VE6DX) and continued with that passion until his hearing started to fail. He is survived by sisters, Helen and Annie; and his brother, Cecil; as well as many nieces and nephews from both Rose's family and his own. Ern was predeceased by his wife, Rosie and brothers, Ken and Charles. According to Ern's wishes there will be no Funeral Service held.
