CARPENTER, MURNA The passing of Murna (MacPherson) Carpenter, wife of the late Arthur Carpenter of Fredericton, NB, occurred on April 1, 2008 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on October 31, 1931 in Durham, NB, she was a daughter of the late Murdoch and Mabel (Clowater) MacPherson. She and her husband Arthur met while working at CFNB. Murna was retired from Tiny Tots. She was a member of the Marysville United Church and the New Brunswick Women's Liberal Association. Murna enjoyed travelling and outdoors, her pets, spending time with her friends and family. Murna is survived by three daughters, Lori Carpenter (Bill Thomson) of Fredericton, NB, Shari Leavitt (Kevin) of B.C. and Karen Carpenter (Rolly LeBlanc) of Dieppe, NB; four grandchildren, Sean, Benjamin, Sarah, Brennan; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Emily and Austin; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Mari Jane Carpenter and one brother, Royce MacPherson. Although there will be no visitation by request, a Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2 pm, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at Centennial United Church Cemetery at a later date.
