RAYMOND FREDERICK CRAIG
CRAIG, RAYMOND FREDERICK The family of Raymond F. Craig of Nackawic wish to express with great sadness, the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and papa, at the age of 71, on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, Palliative Care Unit, after a long fight with lung cancer. Raymond was born July 20, 1936 in Saint John, NB, a son of the late William L Craig and Ida Craig of Saint John. Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Van (Wong) Craig; a daughter, Linda Arbour (Gary), Fredericton; a granddaughter, Brandy Banks (Michael), Lake George; a great granddaughter, Madison Banks, Lake George; his eldest brother, Owen Craig (Mary), Saint John; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his youngest brother, Billy Craig of Saint John. Raymond spent many wonderful times with his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who were more like brothers and sisters than in-laws. He was also very close to their children. Raymond attended Saint John Vocational High School. He worked at the Saint John Irving Pulp and Paper Mill for 16 years. Then he moved to Nackawic and worked at St. Anne Nackawic Pulp and Paper Mill until he retired after 23 years. He was a member of the Nackawic Lions Club for over 30 years and made many wonderful friends there. He volunteered with the Blind and the Blood Donor Clinics. His greatest love was his family, especially his granddaughter, Brandy and great granddaughter, Madison. He will be greatly missed, "Love you Papa", Love, Madison. Because of their help during Ray's illness, in lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to the Nackawic Lions Club or Canadian Red Cross or DECH Foundation (Palliative Care Unit). Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Kirk United Church, 29 Landegger Drive, Nackawic on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev.
