DASSET, JOSEPH HENRI It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Joseph Henri Dasset of Minto, which occurred, surrounded by his family, on Monday, April 28th, 2008 at the Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. Joseph is the son of the late Antoinette and Alphonse Ghislain Dasset, was born and raised in Minto. At the age of 17, he joined the navy where he served in WW2 on the Ottawa destroyer. After the war he re-enlisted in the air force and then went on to finish his military career at base Gagetown. Upon his retiring from the military he then went to work for School District 17 as a school bus driver until he was sixty-five years old. Joseph is survived by his three children, Wayne Dasset (Janie) of Minto, Robert Dasset (Doris) of Fredericton, Anna Dasset of Fredericton; one grandchild, Anthony; two step-grandchildren, Charlene Melanson and Jeff Thibodeau; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Barton) in 1997; his parents, Antoinette and Alphonse Ghislain Dasset; two brothers, Alphonse and Mark; and a sister, Mary Patris. The Family will gather at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 PM and visitors will be received Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 1st, 2008 in the Parker Memorial Chapel of the Minto Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Austin officiating. Interment will follow in the United Baptist Cemetery, Minto. For those who wish, donations made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7pm. www.mintofh.com
