YERXA, GUY FREDERICK The passing of Guy Frederick Yerxa, of Fredericton, NB, husband of M. Jean (Wilson) Yerxa occurred on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 17, 1922 in Mouth of Keswick, he was a son of the late Guy Moses and Ella May (Hagerman) Yerxa. Guy was a woodsman, truck driver and mail driver. In retirement he was an avid scooter enthusiast and enjoyed his morning coffee with friends at Franks. With Guy his family came first and he was always there for his wife, son, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His door was always open. In addition to his wife, Guy is survived by three daughters, Linda Calhoun of Fredericton, Sharon Black (Philip) of Kingsclear, Faye King (Kevin) of Fredericton; one son, John Yerxa (Veronica) of New Market; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Taylor of Bear River, NS; one brother, Sherman Yerxa (Shirley) of Keswick; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Guy was predeceased by an infant daughter, Joyce; one brother, Albert Yerxa; three sisters-in-law, Marie Wilson, Violet Yerxa and Helen Jackson; three brothers-in-law, Glendon Taylor, Lloyd Wilson and William Gilmore. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Keswick United Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 2 pm with Pastor Jonathan McKay officiating and Rev. Ralph Irving assisting. Pallbearers for the service will be Jeremy Calhoun, Corey, Jesse and Ray Yerxa, Shawn Black and Jordan King. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sherman Yerxa, Keith Taylor, Murray Wilson, Donald Ames, Austin Fraser, Basil Hawkins, Edison and Earl Phillips. A private family interment will take place at the Keswick Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the Keswick United Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
