THELMA MARGARET JOHNSTON
JOHNSTON, THELMA MARGARET Thelma M. Johnston of McAdam, NB, wife of Paul L. Johnston, passed away May 5, 2008 at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam, NB. She was born at Gray Rapids, NB in 1936 and was a daughter of the late Chester and Cora (Sturgeon) Curtis. Thelma devoted her life to her family, friends and her Christian faith. She touched all who knew her by her gracious, kind and spiritual presence. She is survived by her husband Paul; a son, William Johnston (Donna), McAdam, NB; four daughters, Joyce Mersereau (David), Sharon Johnston, Joanne McArthur (Steven), all of McAdam, NB and Marlene DeWitt (Daniel), Hamilton, ON; a son-in-law, Stephen Priest, Nackawic; 11 grandchildren, Penny Messer (Rob), Chris Johnston, Bonnie Gahan (Stuart), Monica Mersereau, Nathan Arsenault (Patricia), Julie Arsenault, Sheri Arsenault, Keri McArthur (James Russell), Katrina McArthur, Crystal Whitty (Jeremy) and Katie Dixon (Jordan); six great grandchildren; four brothers, Ashley Curtis (Margaret), Woodstock, NB, Aubrey Curtis, McAdam, NB, Wilson Curtis (Susie), London, ON and Kay Curtis, Harvey; five sisters, Hulda Sullivan (Basil), Vera Curtis, both of Gray Rapids, NB, Vella Messer, Harvey, NB, Olive Hart (Earl), Grand Bay, NB and Shirley Messer (Bert), Tweedside, NB; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Thelma was predeceased by two daughters, Lynn Priest and infant Margaret. Visiting hours will be held at the Voice of Pentecost Church, McAdam on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Tompkins officiating. Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kay Curtis, Larry Johnston, Chris Johnston, Rob Messer, Kirk Montgomery and Kevin Johnston.
