LEAN, MARION BERNICE (ANDERSON) The passing of Marion Bernice (Anderson) Lean of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late George Lean, occurred on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 26, 1917 in Nashwaaksis, NB, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Addie (DeLong) Anderson. Marion was a long standing member of the Devon Park Baptist Church and Union Street Baptist Church. She was a choir member for over 50 years and participated in the Living Christmas Tree for as long as it has been in existence. She was also a former Treasurer of the Memorial Fund at the church and a former member of the Friendly Auxiliary. Marion is survived by her daughter, Dawn Dunphy (Malcolm) of Fredericton, NB; son, Ernest Lean (Rena) of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Janice, Jill, Jennifer, Shawn, Shelby, Suzie and Cheryl; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Marion was predeceased by her son, Winston Lean; sisters, Helen Kierstead and Dorothy Chase. Marion was the last surviving member of her family. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Devon Park Baptist Church on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Lawrence Meade officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Memorial Fund or Building Fund of Devon Park Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
