Dorothy Frances (Bryant) Bozak

Dorothy Frances Bozak (Bryant) passed away peacefully at Guardian Grove, Providence Place, Moose Jaw on Thursday, January 8 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband Paul; sister Joyce Hay. Dorothy is survived by her sons: Spence (Linda) Calgary; Mitch (Karon) Regina; grandchildren: Kim (Phil), Stacey (Drew), Justin and Tyler, Mike and Rob Hetherington; great-grandchildren: Linus, Wylie and Holden; brother Denny Bryant (Jackie) Mississauga, brother-in-law Joe Bozak, Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born in Beckshill on Sea in Great Britain on March 15, 1919. She moved to Swift Current with her parents Elizabeth and Willie where her family owned and operated a dance hall in the 1930's. Dorothy married Paul Bozak in 1940 in Swift Current and settled in Moose Jaw upon Paul's return from the War in 1946. In 1952, Dorothy and Paul moved to Lebret where they owned and operated the Lebret Hotel. Throughout Dorothy's life, she also lived in Calgary, Chilliwack, Melville and Moose Jaw until the time of her death. During her time in Moose Jaw, Dorothy was a member of the Moose Jaw Hillcrest where she was an active golfer and curler. Dorothy was an avid reader, enjoyed swimming, bowling, dancing, flower gardening and her weekly bridge and crib get-togethers. She thoroughly enjoyed her travels through Canada, Hawaii, other USA destinations, Europe, India, Singapore, China and Pakistan. Dorothy spent most summers at the Buffalo Pound Family Cottage where she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at St. George's Anglican Church, Shrine Club, Royal Canadian Legion and volunteered at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Dorothy will be missed and will be remembered for her strong and determined will, quick wit and good sense of humour. And most of all for being a wonderful mother and grandmother. The family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Guardian Grove, Providence Place for the loving care and support they gave Dorothy.
