MERLIN OTTO ESTEY
ESTEY, MERLIN OTTO It is with great sadness that the family of Merlin Otto Estey announces his passing on May 21, 2008 at his home in Upper Durham. Merlin was born on January 8, 1927, the son of Gordon and Lottie Estey. In his early years, Merlin worked on the railroad, at Chestnut Canoe Factory and drove truck for the Royal Mills in Fredericton. He later operated a small Dairy Farm in Upper Durham and was a loyal and caring school bus driver for District #18 for 25 years. Besides his wife, Lorna, Merlin is survived by his children, Ray (Donna), Robin (Maureen), Star (Alban Martin), Ruby Burden (Nicky), Roberta White (Eric) and Rose Marie Curtis (Kevin); grandchildren, Clint (Shelly), Brock, Stephen and Luke Estey, Victoria and Nicholas Burden, Megan, Gordon and David White and Josie and Georgia Curtis; great grandchildren, Jacob, Justin and Abbie; sister, Pearl Amos (Erville) of Grimsby, ON; sister-in-law, June Henderson of Durham; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Merlin was predeceased by sisters, Elva Munn, Olive Waugh, Audrey Morgan, Yvonne and Annie Lois Estey; brothers, Morley, Allen and Orville Estey and infant grandson, Baby Burden. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, May 24, 2008 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Nashwaak Village Baptist Church on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Clair Mullen and Hal Babcock officiating. Interment will take place in Upper Durham Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
