Glenn Ernest Peterson, recently of Providence Place, Moose Jaw, passed away January 11, 2009. Glenn was born on the family farm at Cardross on May 26, 1926 and resided there until 2007 when he moved to Assiniboia. He was active in many community and provincial organizations, some of which included; Saskatchewan Flying Farmers Association, Saskatchewan Wildlife Association, Assiniboia Masonic Lodge, and the Verwood Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. Dad was passionate about his friends, his farm, and his family, most of all. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Gladys; his loving wife of 49 years, Edith; his daughter, Marlene; brothers, Cecil and Alvin; and his sister, Norma. Glenn is survived by his loving companion Norma Taylor; his daughters, Linda (Marshall) Simons, Glennys Gamracy, Shawna (Raymond) Toews; son-in-law, Dennis Struble; and their children: Shannan (Vaughn), Darrell (Shona), Darren (Shannon), Kari (Evan), Meghann (Adam), Scarlett (Phillip), Brianne (Nathan), Allan (Lyndsey), Francesca (David), Blair; great-grandchildren: Kelly, Dallas, Cody, Taylor, Dylan, Nikoli, Eli, Amelia, Madeline, Rylan, Kellyn, Natalie, Tyco, and Tatum; as well as his brother, Clarence (Joan); sisters-in-law, Alice and Elsie; and brother-in-law, Harold. Glenn also enjoyed spending time with members of his extended family, including Karry (Brenda), Brent (Denneen), Lynn (Tracy), Wade, Marcus (Sonya) and their families. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Assiniboia Union Hospital, Extendicare - Moose Jaw, GARU, and St. Anthony's Wing Providence Place, Doctors Rininsland, Glaeske, Dautremont and Luhning. The Service to Celebrate Glenn's life will be held at Minto United Church 1036 Seventh Ave., NW., Moose Jaw on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Shriner's Patient Travel Fund, c/o 1767 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, S6J 1L6, would be appreciated.
