CHASE, ETHEL RUTH The passing of Ethel Ruth Chase of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Allen Chase, occurred on June 10, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 30, 1923 in Bathurst, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lou and Ruth (Alexander) Ward. Ethel was employed with Zellers for over 35 years, she retired as a merchandising manager. She was a member of the Wilmot United Church. Ethel was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a teller for the church. She liked to play bridge, shopping, sewing and volunteering at York Manor Nursing Home. Ethel is survived by her daughter, Judith (Ludger) of Bathurst; son, Gary (Charmaine) of Fredericton; step-grandchildren, Patricia, Linda and Jacqueline; sisters, Edith West (Charles) and Marilyn Seymour (Paul) both of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews; very special friends, Jennie Coy and Pauline Gallagher. Besides her parents and husband, Ethel was predeceased by her brother, Clifford. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery.
