FANJOY, GARY STEWART Gary Fanjoy devoted husband of Patricia (O'Hara) Fanjoy of Quispamsis passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday morning June 26, 2008. Born 1948 in Sussex to the late Joan (Dunnell) and H. Donovan Fanjoy. He grew up in Fredericton and spent 3 years in England in his youth. He graduated from Fredericton High School and attended UNB in Fredericton. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Saint John Shipbuilding for 19 years as a Safety Coordinator, Strait Crossing on the PEI Bridge Project and Fluor Daniel in Saint John on the Refinery Project. Gary was a former member of the Canadian Society Safety Engineering and the Royal Canadian Legion in Waterborough. An avid reader, computer enthusiast and animal lover, he also enjoyed gardening and photography. Besides his wife, Patricia of 27 years, Gary is survived by his only sister, Janice Fanjoy of Fredericton; niece, Melanie Presby (Steven); great-niece, Rebecca all of Fredericton; one aunt, Doris Appleby of Cambridge Narrows; cousins and friends; brother-in-law, John O'Hara of Toronto, ON; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins in England. Visitation will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland (646-2424) on Friday, June 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Private family interment to take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date.
