PRESTON (NICHOLSON), DOROTHY The passing of Dorothy (Nicholson) Preston of Fredericton NB, wife of the late Silbert Preston, occurred at Reta's Retreat in Burton on Saturday, July 19, 2008. Born on June 14, 1909 in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late James and Jennie (Gorveatte) Nicholson Dorothy was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, the UCW and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by one son, James (Sharon) Fraser of Fredericton; grandchildren, Lori McFarlane and Susan Royal (Michael); great-grandchildren, William, Kelsi and Olivia McFarlane and Samuel Royal; brothers, Everett Nicholson and John (Marion) Nicholson; sisters, Betty, Molly, Shirley, Nan and Florence; step-sons, Sib, Bob and Bill Preston; step-daughters, Betty, June, Shirley and Pat; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband, Rev. Major Gordon Fraser; brothers, Garnet and Albert Nicholson; sisters, Jean Landry, Beulah MacIntosh and Marjorie Brown. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB.
