VROOM, MARION RUTH The passing of Marion Ruth Vroom of Fredericton, NB, wife of Weldon F. Vroom of 63 years, occurred unexpectedly, Sunday, July 20, 2008 at home. Born April 19, 1924 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Merville O. and Rita (Colwell) Fletcher. Marion was a member of Greenwood Drive United Baptist Church and a past member of the I.O.D.E. She was a retired school teacher and served on the Fredericton School Board. In addition to her husband, Marion is survived by her son, Brian (Elaine) Vroom of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Elizabeth (Harry) Fairley of Boiestown, NB and Marsha (Terry) Rector of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Kimberly, Wade, Patrick, Sarah and Brandon; great grandchildren, Erika and Tyler; sisters, Joan (David) Crofut of Lake George, NB and Shirley Pond of Kanata, ON; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Greenwood Drive United Baptist Church on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Jeff Benson and Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Interment will follow. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Greenwood Drive United Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
