Donald George Forsyth

Donald George Forsyth was born in Grand Coulee, SK. on October 27, 1911. He passed away on January 8, 2009 at the Craik Health Centre where he had resided since May 2009. He leaves to mourn his sister Shirley, Kenora; stepchildren: Wally (Theresa) Hunt, La Ronge, Gail (Ray) Foster, Wetaskawin, Faye (Duke) Dutkiewicz, The Pas; son-in-law Paul Quick; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Don was predeceased by his wife Ethel (Crippen/Hunt); stepdaughter Donna; grandson Howard; grandson-in-law (Leah's husband); brother Lloyd; sister Ruby; nephew Alec; niece Lynn; parents Alexander & Thurza. Don was a World War II Veteran, serving in the RAF in England as a Radar Technician. He related many stories about the Fighter Planes and the Pilots. He was a teacher by profession and a farmer at heart. He came to Craik in 1951, met Ethel and moved to Aylesbury. He was an active member of the Aylesbury community for over 50 years, moving to Craik in 2000 but still a part of Aylesbury. He served on the town's council for a number of years with his pal Hank Watkins. He was a member of both the Eastern Star and the Masons, Saskatchewan Teachers Federation, Alumni of the University of Saskatchewan and a contributor to many various charities. Thank you to Don's friends for visiting him in the Health Centre and a "Special Thank You" to the staff of the Craik Health Centre for making Don's last few months so comfortable.
