Mildred Cornell July 16th, 1921 - January 21st, 2009 We are saddened to announce the passing of Mildred , formerly of Moose Jaw at age 87. She resided at Circle Drive Special Care Home, Saskatoon. Mildred had lived at Eamer Court prior to her move in July 2008. Mildred was from the Marquis District and worked at various locations before marrying Arnold in November of 1941. Together they worked at farm jobs and in November of 1944 she gave birth to their only child, Donna. Her activities included cooking, sewing and prize winning gardening, then later worked as a seamstress at Cana Days Apparel and was a Home Care Aide. She was very active in the New Grace Unit of St. Andrews Church catering and serving at teas. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; parents, David and Margaret Jones; four sisters, Gwladys, Gwen, Kay and Margaret and their husbands, Roy, Bill, Hughie and Clem. Left to mourn her passing is Donna (Del) Lummerding, Darren (Tracey) Lummerding, Kristina, James, Kaitlyn and Hayley, all from Saskatoon; Diana (Kevin) Moore, Fairmont, BC plus many nieces and nephews. The Service of Remembrance will be on Monday, January 26th at 1:00 p.m. from St. Andrews United Church (60 Athabasca Street East, Moose Jaw) with Rev. Bill Thomson presiding. Following a reception burial will take place beside her husband at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc. or St. Andrews United Church.
