LaKING, REV. MAYNARD E. Rev. Maynard Everett LaKing of McAdam, NB passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 15, 2008. Born in 1920 at McAdam, he was a son of the late Lorenzo C. and Margaret M. (Fielding) LaKing. Maynard was employed with C.P.R. in McAdam for over thirty years as a carman. He ministered for many years with Emmanuel Outreach Ministries in Canterbury, NB and surrounding areas. During his retirement years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends. Maynard is survived by his wife, Marion M. (McGee) LaKing; a daughter, Merna Harper (Garth) of Regina, SK; three sons, Douglas LaKing (Patsy) of McAdam, NB, Carl LaKing (Doreen) of Calgary, AB and Danny LaKing of Prince George, BC; a sister, Faith Wright of Sussex, NB; three brothers, Calvin LaKing (Frances), Guy LaKing (Christine) and Lawrence LaKing (Betty) all of McAdam, NB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Maynard was predeceased by sisters, Mabel Roberts and Irma Bishop and brothers, James, Lorenzo, Edward and Milford LaKing. Although there will be no visiting hours, friends are welcome to attend the funeral service to be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at 1 pm with Rev. George Clark and Rev. Weldon LaKing officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer will be Phillip Merrithew. Active pallbearers will be Reg McGee, Ron McGee, Roy Swim, Curtis Dixon, Eldon LaKing and Roy Donahue.
