SAWAI, NORIKO Noriko Sawai of Fredericton passed away on August 24th, 2008 at the age of 67. Born in Tokyo, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Masamichi and the late Fumiko Tanokura. She immigrated to Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1975 with her family. She worked as a part-time and volunteer translator for the government and private companies in New Brunswick. She will be sadly missed by Makoto, her husband of 43 years; her two daughters, Yoko of Montreal, Quebec, and Hiroko (Steve Shepherd) of Toronto, Ontario. She is survived by her brothers, Masashi (Atsuko) Tanokura and Yutaka (Reiko) Tanokura, both in Japan; as well as several nephews and nieces in Japan and the USA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home (160 York Street, Fredericton) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Memorial service will be held at the Skyline Acres Baptist Church (135 Canterbury Drive, Fredericton) on Thursday, August 28th, 2008 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow. Rev. Dr. Karl Csaszar will officiate. Cremation and burial will be held at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
