HAROLD THOMAS PARTINGTON
PARTINGTON, HAROLD THOMAS It is with sadness that the family of Harold Thomas "Brick" Partington wish to announce his passing on September 4, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on December 31, 1917, he moved to Fredericton at a very early age. He was the son of the late John Partington Sr. and Margaret Farrel Partington. He joined the Armed Forces on February 3, 1940, spent five years overseas, landed in Normandy with the second anti-tank regiment. He fought through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was employed with UNB for 32 years, until his retirement. Harold was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch #4 He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Jane Lynch Partington; two sons James (Sharon) of New Maryland, Bill (Heather) of Edmonton, Alberta; one daughter Pauline Mitchell (Jack) of Moncton; three grandchildren Kathy Mitchell of Yukon, Mark and Kalee Partington of New Maryland; one sister Margaret Williams of Saint John. He was also predeceased by two brothers John and Robert; one sister Violet Canney. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church, on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 12:00 pm with Father Gerry White as celebrant. Interment will be held in the Hermitage Cemetery.
