GIBSON, GLADYS MAUDE (PITT) Gibson, Gladys Maude (Pitt) of Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, passed away on Sept. 13th at her residence after a brief illness. She was born on June 12, 1920 to Manford and Ida (Harrington) Pitt and lived nearly all her life in Saint John. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, John (Jack) Gibson, as well as by her four brothers: Wilmer, Ferris, Curtis and Borden Pitt. Gladys is survived by her three children, Marilyn (Winston) Keirstead, Fredericton, John (Linda) Gibson, Charlottetown and Ken Gibson (YuMing Ye), Riverview. She also leaves to mourn her seven grandchildren, Scott (Heather) Keirstead, Kelly Roberts (Trevor Behan), Brent Keirstead, Melda Gibson, Geoffrey (Amy) Gibson, Johnathon Gibson and Adam Gibson; four great-grandchildren, Holly Roberts, Abby Keirstead, Owen Keirstead and Caitlin Behan. Survivors also include sister-in-law Gertie Pitt, cousin Margaret Dunlap as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John on Friday, Sept. 19th at 1:00 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service, in Brenan's chapel, at 2:30. Rev. Paul Thompson will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Fern Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, the family would appreciate remembrances to any charity you choose but would recommend Pine Grove Nursing Home, where Gladys received such excellent, loving care during her last 20 months on earth, as a worthy recipient.
